Dr. Karen Parker ND, MSCP, ABAAHP, FAARFM is a triple board-certified functional medicine provider focusing on interventional hormonal healthcare for women during midlife. Her clinical work acknowledges the interplay of aging, stress and injury upon a woman's endocrine system, and understands the magnitude of these impacts upon a woman's life, including social + career + self-fulfillment opportunities.
Using her integrative medicine method professionally honed with hundreds of women, combined with lived experience of overcoming her own health adversities, Dr. Parker helps women at critical life transition points to transform their health challenges into sustainable sources of insight, potency and renewal. Women may find their way here when the intelligent holism of their concerns feels unseen and thus under-treated by the conventional medical paradigm and its existential limitations of 'disease management'. Others come in sensing vulnerability to social media, becoming reflexively overwhelmed by the array of health coaching, consumer products and DIY labs, and skeptically intrigued by the 'McMenopause' medical enterprise seeing women en masse. Seekers in the postmodern healthcare landscape find sacred ground in a therapeutic relationship with a doctor who aims to see a woman for who she is and where she needs to direct her health. Together, they figure out how to get there, and embrace detours courageously and creatively.
Dr. Parker is a seasoned and nationally certified menopause provider by The Menopause Society (a designation noted as MSCP). She encourages all women seeking information about hormone replacement therapy to throughly research their doctor's training and experience in menopause as a medical specialization, particularly when seeking hybrid care with integrative medicine. Dr. Parker received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, during which time her clinical internship afforded the opportunity to treat a diverse population of women from many different cultures and ethnicities. She received clinical board certification in naturopathic medicine from the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners, and is licensed to practice as a naturopathic physician by the Washington State Department of Health (a designation noted as ND). She is a postgraduate diplomate of anti-aging medicine, and is also board certified in integrative, metabolic & nutritional medicine through the Metabolic Medicine Institute, the American Academy of Antiaging and Regenerative Medicine. and the American Board of Anti-Aging Health Practitioners (a designation noted as ABAAHP). She later completed a fellowship in regenerative medicine, and then further refined her expertise by pursuing an advanced fellowship in Functional Medicine (FAARFM). She combines fellowship trainings to the ongoing advancements in endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology and cognition. Such training helps her provide a 'systems biology approach' to all aspects of patient care.
Dr. Parker is also the co-founder of Neurevolution Medicine PLLC, a multidisciplinary specialty clinic which distills evidence-based medicine as the means through which to integrate the disciplines of neuro-endocrinology, neurology, neuro-optometry, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, sleep medicine, behavioral health and cardiometabolic medicine. This clinic has evolved into a neuroendocrine specialty think tank under the direction of Dr Richard Batson, ND, MSc (Endocrinology) and a team of medical doctors and researchers.

A woman's health undergoes profound shifts beginning at around age 35-50, often coinciding with what are generally regarded as her 'peak earning years'... Women undergoing significant life stressors are at greater risk of experiencing
neurological changes.
Variegated symptoms of menopause include cognitive changes, elusive deep sleep, severe mood fluctuation, new-onset interpersonal challenges such as a divorce or break-up, decreased self-esteem and lowered stress resilience. While these are notable symptoms, other 'silent' disease states incrementally occur in women whose hormones are not nourishing their core vitality. A small sampling of common conditions includes insulin resistance, diabetes & cardiovascular disease, all of which predispose women to developing cognitive decline.
By intervening with targeted therapies, improved hormonal balance can help to protect against this whole-body tipping point, cultivating critical protection against neurodegenerative risks later while easing systemic stress now. Increasing energy and vitality well into one's golden years begins by planting seeds in your thirties and forties, and attentively nourishing the proverbial garden thereafter. Even women beyond menopause can benefit from some forms of novel therapies.

We use scientific advancements to question the dominant narrative about aging.
Dr. Parker specializes in the care of women and men ages 30+ as they begin to face hormonal imbalances. She treats an array of conditions associated with female aging. This includes conditions like mood and concentration changes, premenstrual exacerbation, migraines associayed with menses, decreased exercise performance and arthritic conditions.
She also works on adjunctive diagnosis & treatment of conditions indirectly impacted by hormones and gut health.

"Reproductive Mental Health"
Women do not experience menopause uniformly.
Ergo, women in midlife benefit from care where the interplay of sex steroid hormones & neurodiversity is inherently meaningful, and which informs the process of healthcare itself...
Women are dynamic by design, and "reproductive psychiatry", in spite of the term, has profound implications for healthy women facing hormonal insufficiencies and imbalances.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are can be hidden culprits underlying some forms of illness, including some types of hormonal imbalance.
