Frequently Asked Questions

Female Rose Blooms Functional medicine insurance PCP woman naturopathic integrative root cause heal

Can you be my primary care doctor?

Dr. Parker is happy to work  with your wellness care team to determine the root cause of illness, as well as its treatment.  As a specialist, she is not a replacement for a primary care internist at a major hospital.  Like your primary care doctor (PCP), she runs lab testing and imaging through insurance for all patients (except Medicare).  For those who are in between primacy care providers, she is willing to provide extended care for you, and help you find a local primary care doctor to help set you up with a health care team best suited to integrative medicine.  She is usually willing to provide continuity of care refills for prescriptions ordered by your primary care doctor, with the exception of stimulant drugs, narcotics and benzodiazepine medications.  Some medications will require standard lab testing, such as electrolytes and liver function tests.  She is similar to a PCP in that she may refer you to other specialists in order to more fully evaluate a particular condition.

Many of her patients reside in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah and Woodinville, and she is also able to use

100% telemedicine for those who live in more remote regions of Washington.

How do I get started?

Call us to speak with a real human or send us a message.

The easiest way to work with us is through an initial consultation which, at present, is now being done online via telemedicine or phone.  If you were referred to us by one of our referral partners, you may be able to jumpstart your care with a 30 minute Discovery Session at no charge to you.

Our office has streamlined the intake process so that you can easily complete forms online and upload any important healthcare records you would like to have us review prior to your appointment.

If you are unsure whether we are the right fit for your unique situation, please contact our office to request a free 15-minute Discovery Session with Dr. Parker.  Discovery Sessions do not provide a doctor-patient relationship, and do not include prescriptions or lab interpretation.

What types of tests do you commonly run?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily waiving requirements for blood testing of new patients in many cases in order to reduce exposures.

Blood tests and computerized cognitive testing serve as foundational assessments. When interpreted in the context of your health history as well as your present concerns and goals, these tests give us a better understanding of your present health.   To support a truly integrative care model, we provide specialty referrals to sleep medicine, neurology, cardiology, gynecology and endocrinology if we suspect this is in the best interest of your health.   Specialty referrals help Dr. Parker to further evaluate multi-factorial health issues and to ensure that the root cause(s) of health problems are discovered.   3D mammogram screening and breast & pelvic ultrasounds are ordered when appropriate.   Brain MRI, brain PET scan, qEEG, bone mineral density, thyroid ultrasound, EKG, ECG, colonoscopy and coronary CT are other

 commonly ordered tests when appropriate.

Testing requisitions are created after your initial intake, and because our testing menu is extensive, not all tests can be listed here.

Does every woman you see use hormones?

No. Our approach is  highly personalized based on individual goals and risks factors, and incorporates lifestyle wellness, exercise, nutrition, supplementation.  Hormone therapies are not needed in all cases, and not all women are candidates for hormone replacement.   Many of our patients use only natural remedies, diet and lifestyle to achieve their health transformations. Duration of treatment, budget, existing medications,  family history, genomics and responses to previous therapies are always considered.  Teens and women in their twenties often require simple adjustments in nutrition and digestion to help create hormonal balance.
